This is a very interesting book about the author's experience of finding himself in a (brief) period of, well, extreme clarity in the midst of an extremely dangerous mountain-climbing event caused by unforeseen and unexpected weather changes. He writes of such experiences recounted by many others, from a wide variety of circumstances. He also notes that the vast majority of extremely dangerous events do not involve such moments. I'm rereading book now and finding it again very engaging and interesting.
