Brody Meets a Bully is a picture book about a child who fears the unknown. Dark-haired, green-eyed Brody is willful with a hunger to fit in at school. Opee, a new school friend, teaches Brody how to laugh, drawing him into his world. Opee tells tales of adventures with his grandfather and becomes the storyteller at school. He has learned confidence through fishing and the outdoors. Now he sees a child who has not experienced the world and comes to his rescue. Coach Mike helps children feel they can throw back their heads and say, "Yes, I can meet life's challenges no matter how old I am." The important starting lesson Brody learns is about communication, and especially about love of family. Brody's parents feel blessed with their life and happy with marriage. Suddenly a routine trip to school turns their world out of control. This book will teach young parents how to cope with the emotional needs of their children. Parents should read this book often to their child from 4-8 years of age. After reading, spend time discussing what is really on the mind of their child.
