Bitty the Kid

I learned to read fairly early, but then lost interest because there weren't a lot of kids books that were easy enough for me but still had good stories. The Bunnicula series were the first chapter books I remember getting really into. The characters are interesting and relatable, the story is fun and funny, and just a little bit spooky. I love that the nonhuman animals are not anthropomorphized in any overt way, other than intellectually and able to communicate with each other (and that the dog can somehow type?). Anyway, great books, and I recently discovered the "Easy to Read" version which I'm going to try out with some younger readers in my classroom.
