Synopsis
1787. A man hastily puts the finishing touches to a jug adorned with grotesque images which, he hopes, will carry his message after his death. Almost two centuries later Susanna Paris buys the jug at auction, against stiff competition from Richard Oliver whose ancestral home, Hall o'th'Wood, is portrayed on the piece. As they embark on a whirlwind romance, sinister revelations about previous inhabitants of the Hall begin to emerge, and Richard begins behaving strangely...
