Synopsis
Excerpt from By Northern Lakes: Reminiscences of Life in Ontario Mission Fields
WE have endeavoured as faithfully as possible to portray the following scenes and incidents, with a careful regard for the fundamental principles of truth, only recording those events which are dis tinctly and accurately remembered, spicing them up with stories of adventure by lake and forest. After all this painstaking labour, however, we are well aware of the fact that there will be imperfections and errors in connection with the work. But we crave the indulgence of the reader, and trust that he will throw the veil of charity over all, even though it does not reach his standard of literary excellence.
