Synopsis
Peake's explanation of your immortality is the most innovative and provocative argument I have seen - Bruce Greyson, Carlson Professor of Psychiatry, University of Virginia.
In 1899 Swiss psychologist Th odore Flournoy stated that: The weight of evidence for an extraordinary claim must be proportioned to its strangeness. In 1978 this was amended by American sociologist Marcello Truzzi to read any extraordinary claim requires extraordinary proof. In 1980, the TV show Cosmos astronomer Carl Sagan made the final amendment to this statement, reducing it down to the very pithy Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence which has now become so popular that it is now simply referred to by its acronym, ECREE and in more general terms as the Sagan Statement.
While keeping ECREE in mind at all times, Anthony Peake will pull together all of the themes he has pursued in his previous books and present an incorporated theory of reality which, in turn, will suggest that death is not the end of human conscious awareness.
The four sections within will contain all new material which will reflect Anthony's research subsequent to the publication of Is there life after death? in 2006. In the last two decades Anthony has amassed a large amount of material that supports the Cheating The Ferryman concept. This has been sourced from numerous academic papers and Anthony's ever-increasing contact network which includes some of the world's leading researchers in subjects as diverse as quantum mechanics, neurochemistry and altered states of consciousness mixed with numerous experiencers of OBEs, NDEs, Lucid Dreams and entity encounters.
This material will be of particular interest to both those discovering Anthony's work for the first time as well as those who are very familiar with his work.
The sections will be:
1. Theology and Philosophy
2. The Science
3. Popular Culture
4. The Evidence.
The Evidence will contain scores of never-before-published accounts supplied to Anthony from his readers together with a similarly unpublished collection of experiences taken from an astonishing collection of letters sent to British playwright J.B. Priestley in the early 1960s after he made a request on the BBC for viewers to send in their anomalous time experiences. Anthony was given access to these letters, stored at the Cambridge University Library Historic Documents Collection a few years ago.

Synopsis
Peake's explanation of your immortality is the most innovative and provocative argument I have seen - Bruce Greyson, Carlson Professor of Psychiatry, University of Virginia.
What happens when we die? This age-old question has plagued humankind from the moment we became self-aware, but do we now have enough evidence to answer it?
In this mind-expanding book, Anthony Peake reveals an extraordinary model of life after death - one that brings together ideas from ancient philosophy, neuroscience, quantum physics and consciousness studies, and manages to explain a number of seemingly mysterious experiences such as precognition, d j vu, synchronicity, near-death experiences and out-of-body experiences. It is called Cheating the Ferryman.
This book is a much-awaited follow-up to Peake's internationally bestselling Is There Life After Death which introduced his revolutionary model. Since then he has amassed more evidence, using new studies by world-leading researchers, theories from the likes of Stephen Hawking, Carl Jung and Hugh Everette, together with testimonies of NDEs and precognitive experiences which give everyday clues to our immortality.
Cheating the Ferryman presents an astounding model of survival after death that is supported by, rather than in conflict with, our present understanding of how the universe works.
