China: Alive in the Bitter Sea was the first non-fiction book that have opened my mind into the vast reality of how the Chinese People have suffered during the Cultural Revolution. I was 17 years when I read the book. The book was a like a match that lit up my passion in learning more about the people in the world. Without it I may not have read other great books like the ones written by Alexandr Solzhenitsyn or Harriet Beecher Stowe's Uncle Tom's Cabin.
A life changing experience indeed.
