Palahniuk has always been known for his wit and unique writing style, but this book perfectly showcases his ability to write character. How it is possible to love a character, relate to them, and be waiting with bated breath to find out their fate, even though you can't put a finger on what exactly it is that makes him redeemable, I'll never understand. There is a true artistry to way that Palahniuk so skillfully weaves together these incredibly real characters. I read it voraciously in the span of a day, and I'm sure I'm not the first.

My favorite of his books so far. I could really relate to the angst... and what a wild ride!

Not for the faint at heart, but by far one of the best Palahniuk books written. This is the first of his books I read. I enjoyed it so much I read 4 more of his books one right after the other. Yes it's a little sick but it does have some undertone humor to it. Though I wouldn't want Victor as a friend, he is an interesting character to follow around. If you prefer light hearted books this is not the book for you. If don't mind a bit of twisted, mind bending reading, read this book.

Hilariously funny, with an underlining emotional message.

Choke is as intensely sexual as fight club was intensely violent (That's a good thing by the way). And it's wildly humorous. I spent much of my time with the book camped out on my big cushy reading chair, giggling mischievously.

This book was awesome. It is extremely funny in a sick and twisted sort of way. It?s gross and explicit. The main character isn?t someone that you would necessarily like if you met him in person, but he?s entertaining to read about. I?d recommend this but only if you like sick and twisted books. If you don?t then, you?d probably hate this. Also if you didn?t like Fight Club, you don?t like sick and twisted stuff. ;)
