"[Tunnels of Blood and Vampire Mountain] combine suspense with gory yet fascinating detail, occasional pathos, and even a bit of humor. The cliffhanging ending promises more to come. Two thumping good reads for fans." Booklist
"The premise has long lost whatever freshness it once had, and cocky, self-centered Darren is neither interesting nor likable enough to make anyone really care. Utter dreck; even the most devoted fans of the series will feel cheated." Kirkus Reviews
"This vampire story is not gory and has some interesting mythology....I would recommend having the whole series my students will not be happy without having the rest of the story to finish." KLIATT
"A perfect book for reluctant middle school readers. For those fans of Buffy and Angel, here is another book to satisfy their vampiric tastes." VOYA
