About the Author
John Ransley entered journalism in the late 1960s and worked as a reporter, sub-editor and editor for several magazines and organizations, including National Bookseller and Short Stories Magazine, before joining the editorial staff of the Official Report (Hansard) in the House of Lords in 1981. Soon after acquiring his first home PC in the early 1980s, he contributed numerous articles on BASIC, adventure programming and other topics to Your Computer, Computer and Video Games, INPUT, Compute! and other publications. After moving to Hansard in the House of Commons, he was closely involved in its transition to electronic publishing of the daily parliamentary proceedings. His other published works of reference include Chambers Dictionary of Political Biography. He is a member of the Society of Authors.
