Auz I recommend the book Crispin Cross Of Lead, a John Newbery Medal winner by Avi to kids anywhere from the ages of ten to fourteen. This book is two hundred and ninety seven pages and I recommend it for people reading in a book group. If you want to learn more about the Middle Ages this is the book for you. It is based in England the year 1377 A.D. This book is about a boy who has lost his Mom and is now trying to find his place in life and figure out who he is. Luckily for him he comes upon a person who goes by the name Bear. Bear starts off as his master but turns into his teacher and friend. To Crispin Bear is like the father he never knew. To Bear, Crispin is a student who can carry on his wisdom through the world. Crispin becomes an open target to kill for anyone who sees him and Bear helps him through this. To find out if Crispin makes it and Bear has a student for life, READ THE BOOK!!

We had to read this book for school. and we had to read it during the summer! it was terrible! i didnt even finish it! it was just soooo boring. the coolest part was like the last 3 chapters and that was still stupid. why would john aycliffe wait until bear was out of jail to try and kill crispin? he could've just done it while crispin was dragging bear out. i thought the book was terrible and so did all my friends.

The book Crispin, by AVI, is a book that I think you should read. The book is about a boy who is called “Asta’s Son” (because his mothers name was Asta) and is very disliked by the steward of their town, Stormford, and his name was John Aycliffe. Once his mother dies he is proclaimed a “Wolfs Head” which means that anyone can kill him at anytime. Once he hears of this he runs away from Stormford. He then comes across a church and hears singing from inside. He discovers that it is a man who is called Bear because he is very large like a bear. They travel together and Bear teaches the boy how to play the recorder and they go from town to town making music and everything goes well until they get to Great Wexly… The Book Crispin is a great book because the beginning of the book can grasp your attention very quickly. It starts with his mother dying and how he copes with the problems he has with the town and him being a wolfs head. His only friend is the priest of the town who tells him that the only way he will be safe is if he runs as far north as he can. The book is also very touching in the way that how he discovers who he really is and the struggles with what happens to his friends and family. The book is also very fast paced and is a quick read. It got very good at the end, and at some spots in the story I couldn’t put the book down. The book Crispin was pretty accurate when it came to facts about the middle ages. The peasants in the book did the average work that a serf in the Middle Ages. Working in the fields and going to church was their basic life style. In conclusion, while sitting by the pool in Palm Springs, California during spring break, reading the book Crispin was without a doubt one of the best Historical Fiction books I have ever read, and I think that you should read it too.

The book I read is called Crispin. I think Crispin was a very good book for many reasons. Crispin is about a boy called Asta’s son (Asta was his mother). Asta has just passed away and her son is now an orphan. Asta’s son finds out that his steward, John Ayclife, id out to kill him. Asta’s son sets off on an adventure were he will learn about himself and will meet a few friends and enemies on the way. When I decided to read Crispin I thought it would be just a easy read with a boring historical plot. Although when I started reading, I couldn’t put down my book. Also, while I was reading I couldn’t help but marvel at Avi’s writing style. I have read two other books of his. Crispin and the other two, all three of them took place in three totally different periods in time. Lastly, when I finished Crispin I was disappointed. Not because it was bad but because I wanted to know more of what happens to this character. Crispin was a very historically accurate book. I actually learned from it too. Avi was very good with making the book interesting but also the content correct. The names of the social classes were right and so were all the facts. Crispin brought everything I knew about the Middle Ages and more into a fun, exhilarating book. Crispin is a great book no matter what your age. You will learn form it whether you are five or fifty. Avi proves that you can turn history into something fun and interesting. I love this book and I know you will too.

This book, Crispin is about a poor boy named Crispin and about how his mother died early on his life and something happened to his father before he was born. Even though I think that you could learn a lot from this book, I do not recommend this book to anybody because it’s a very sad book and if you do not like to have your time wasted reading a very sad story thinking it would happen to you then this isn’t the right book for you. He didn’t find out about the big tragedy about his father until the middle of the book. Towards the middle of the book when he figured out about the tragedy that happened to his father it was said that this tragedy happened before Crispin’s birth. The only help he has now is from the priest and from himself. The evidence that this is a sad book is that he had to suffer because of all these tragedies that happened to his parents. Instead he had to learn to mostly take care of himself, even though maybe the priest could give him just a little bit of help and support. Also another example would be that even when his parents were okay he always thought about the sad memories with his parents and not the good memories. I think that this book is historically accurate because at his age in the medieval times people either had a life on their own, or was married which would’ve been even harder because you would have to take care of your spouses. In the book Crispin, he practiced being on his own. In the book Crispin by Avi I don’t think that Crispin is a book worth reading. This is one of the worst books I’ve ever read. It turns out that reading this book was a waste of my time and totally ruined my spring break. Just remember, do not read Crispin by Avi.

I read the book Crispin by Avi and I thought overall it was a pretty good book for it being about the middle ages. This book is set in England in 1377 A.D. and it’s about a 13 year old boy who’s been called Asta(his mother)’s son his entire life so he thinks he has no name . After his mother dies he realizes that the steward is out to kill him. Not knowing why, he flees the kingdom to try to begin a new life. In the first place I liked this book because you can read it very quickly even though it looks pretty long .Second this book has a lot of action in it so you want to keep on reading. Each chapter ends in very interesting spot in the book besides the fact that it has like a million chapters. Third, this book described everything really well so you can have a good picture in your head while you are reading this book even though it’s during the middle ages. Besides the fact that it’s a good book this book is also historically accurate in many ways. It uses words like thus and thy and stuff like that. It was also accurate when it talked about that the knights were wearing armor and chain mail. For the reasons above Crispin by Avi is a good book and I would recommend it if you want to learn about the middle ages.
