Synopses & Reviews
Join Dave and Jane as they explore Wilderness, their new hometown, pretending they're Lewis and Clark exploring the unknown wilderness. Inspired by the notebooks of Meriwether Lewis and William CLark, who explored uncharted regions of the United States in search of the Northwest Passage, Dave and Jane set out to find the beach.
What they encounter as they travel the frontier to find the ocean is strangely similar to, but completely diferent from, what awaited the early-19th-century explorers warring and peaceful Native Americans, the gateway to the Rockies, giant mosquitoes, and hot chocolate and a warm bath at the end of the day. Narrated by selections from Lewis and Clark's original notebooks, Dave and Jane's journey through the streets of Wilderness mirrors the explorer's adventures as the quoted passages take on humorous and unexpected twists.
In his wacky and whimsical collages, Bob Knox indulges his talent for connecting paat to present and fantasy to reality. There is always something new, some detail waiting to be discovered in his brilliant creations.
