Synopses & Reviews
At last, a discipling guide anybody can use. When somebody uses the “d” word, do you mentally shudder and draw back? Talking about discipling others can do that to Christians. We’re happily involved in church and Bible studies, but it’s unnerving to share Christ with people or mentor new believers. We’d rather leave that to the gung-ho types. At last, here’s a personal ministry book that anybody can use. It’s a practical, friendly, workable guide to everything you need to know about discipling without terrifying you or those you want to reach. You could think of it as a “discipleship for dummies” book. It breaks out discipling into simple, manageable steps, based firmly on biblical principles about reaching your world for Christ. “God can use anybody with a willing heart,” says author Scott Morton, who describes himself as “not gifted” in discipling and admits making lots of mistakes. Forged through experience, his realistic approach will inspire you to develop enduring relationships-the kind that touch people’s deep needs and make a one-to-one difference. So don’t be reluctant, scared, or worried about discipling. Just be a down-to-earth discipler. It works.

Synopsis
Step out of Shame and into Glory. Rape, incest, alcoholism, addiction, divorce, bitterness, gossip, abortion. The list could go on and on with ways sin poisons our lives. And whether the sin is self-imposed or committed by someone else, it always has the potential to cause us a deep-seated sense of shame. This toxic emotion often convinces us we are irreparably damaged at our very core. And, sadly, the hurt doesn’t end there. All too often, shame brings about additional self-destructive behavior, and the never-ending cycle of sin and shame continues, leading us even further from a relationship with God. The enemy wants you to believe the lie that there is something terribly, and permanently, wrong with you. But God, your Father-the magnificent Creator of the universe-is shouting out the life-giving truth that there is nothing about you or your past that cannot be redeemed. Learn how the healing love of God can bring good out of your darkest, most shameful secrets. Let Him pull up your hidden roots of shame and replace them with His unconditional love for you. Are you ready to trade darkness for light?
