Below are 5 star reviews posted on Goodreads for Desires (A Legacy Novel) by the author, R. Rose.
Wow. Okay so I just finished this and wow. I can't wait for the next one! I want to thank R. Rose for giving me the chance to read this masterpiece!
It has the ingredients for a good YA, attractive people, a love triangle, fighting, etc.
Now I must say the title of this book was perfect! You know when you read a book and then you look at the title and you're like why is it called that? This is not one of those books. It was the perfect length and the cover is so pretty it's definitely worth buying a physical copy to sit on your bookshelf!
The artwork throughout this book is so pretty.
This book is definitely worth reading, Eléan is young and pretty and seems pretty cool. She is the daughter of the Queen and King of her village, that makes her a princess I guess. Her village is completely down to earth though and she has these two friends... They're like brothers, and of course they're attractive #TeamJames. The love triangle was just... Words are failing me right now.
The ending made my jaw drop a little and I'm not gonna lie I did shed quite a few tears throughout this. I definitely recommend this book but please keep in mind this is YA and new; if you are squeamish about sex you might want to wait a while.
Malevolence hurry up and come out! I need you! - Jada, Goodreads reviewer
** spoiler alert ** **Don't read this if you do not want spoilers** Well, let me just tell you, this book was excellent. About a girl turned young woman, Eléan, whose Legacy will both help and destroy her. When Eléans parents die, who are also the King and Queen, Eléan is forced to choose her warrior, and chooses Liam, who she had just recently discovered feelings for. Meanwhile, Liam's brother James, is totally and completely in love with her. What starts out as a love triangle, this book develops into so much more. This is the book that I've been waiting for. But because of her Legacy, Greagoir is after her. He is not alone, as the Goddess of Killing Rage and Uncontrollable Lust, Morrigan, is by his side, along with other crow beasts and tons of mercenaries. Greagoir seeks to have Elèan in his bed furs willingly, but when she refuses, he will stop at nothing. This book made me laugh at times, and have my jaw drop A LOT. But those ending pages, were beautiful. One thing I'm concerned with after reading the epilogue, what will the second book be about? I hope it is Brigit and Connor as she comes to understand her Legacy. - Austin W., Goodreads reviewer
I L-O-V-E-D this book. The author effectively created a world and characters that a reader could invest in and profit. I started the book at 10pm thinking I would only read a little bit in order to get a solid introduction. WRONG...I stayed up until 5am when I couldn't keep my eyes opened any longer. Highly recommended. - Sharon W., Goodreads Reviewer
I LOVED this book. From the first page all the way to the last page I was in LOVE! In fact I'm still in LOVE with it and waiting for the second one to come out.
The author has created a book that is breathtaking, from the characters to the ancient God's to the fighting. The character development was perfect. I felt that I connected with and believed the characters in the book.Okay...my top three characters...easy....Eléan, James, and Liam. The perfect love triangle. I just don't know what to say about these three other then I loved them. Eléan was perfect. Everything is taken away from her so quickly and she is forced to step into a high power role. On top of that she must choose her warrior. The one who will be her true love. It's such a challenge that I felt bad for her. But the way she handled it was amazing. She is one powerful female, all the way to the end of the book. Where my tears fell....The two men were brave and great. They stood up with Eléan and was there for her. The characters in the book were great and there was not one character that I hated...unless it was for their actions.
In the end I was sad that this book ended. I wanted more and I cannot wait until the second on comes out. Looking forward to seeing what the author does with the characters. Lindsey, Goodreads Reviewer
** spoiler alert ** Anyone who likes mythology, romance, and action, this is a must read. All in one, Desires was a beautiful book. The discription of the world was so vivid it seems like you have entered into that world yourself. In the begining, Elèan's nature may have seemed a little naive and ignorant to the world around her but as the story progresses, you can see her change, being the queen and leading the Clan with Liam. The story and plot itself was really interesting. The characters desires, motivated them to do what they wanted, in some cases clouded their judgement of what was good and what was bad, in Morrigan's case. But since she was the Goddess of Uncontrollable Lust and Killing Rage, it didnt really matter to her what was good and what was bad, as long as she got what she wanted. Liam and James...I really dont know who I like better. They're both so perfect, I cant choose. I really want to know what happens in the next book, the ending of Desires was so unexpected and so suprising. Will Elèan come back or is it just about her kids? I cant wait for Malevolence! - Angela Z., Goodreads Reviewer
