Dora is absolutely the best and most timely novel of 2012. It is a glimpse into the postmodern bizarre of girlhood: guts, pain, art, and sex beautifully smeared across the page without an inch of timidity. Yuknavitch is a gift.

Yuknavitch successfully uses farce as a construct to pull off serious cultural criticism by poking fun and using outrageous exaggeration as a device. Her storytelling is deliberate and she is an expert at weaving multiple meanings into her work that teach, inform and transform the reader without knowing they are being transformed until after its all over. I would seriously suggest this book as a teaching tool in various courses, from Psychology to Philosophy and Women's studies to Literature, just as a start.

This book was by far my favorite read in 2012! It made me feel like a teenager on the brink of so many exciting and insane adventures.

I told everyone I knew to read The Chronology of Water. No one loved it as much as me.

The "Chronology of Water" at large has been a radical read for me in terms of how I have thought stories should be told. Lidia Yuknavitch obeys no rules in the telling of her truth, somehow telling it in the only messy way she knows how. I'm looking forward to "Dora: A Headcase" with great anticipation.

Her memoir was electrifying, honest prose. A window into the heart, mind and soul of one of the nation's most promising writers. I literally could not put it down. Except, of course, when I had to because the writing split me wide open. I can only imagine what is next for this amazing talent.

Lidia Yuknavitch has such a fluid and sensual way with language. I loved The Chronology of Water and can't wait to read her newest masterpiece.

This book is amazing. It takes all of the anger and passion of being a teenager and wraps it in beautiful language, stunning images, and drugs. Lidia Yuknavitch has expertly blended Sigmund Freud's case study with modern times and a righteous dose of justice. Everyone should read this. Everyone.
