Laini Taylor had the good luck to grow up traveling, though perhaps not as much as Magpie Windwitch. She finally put down roots in Portland, Oregon, where she lives with her husband, artist Jim Di Bartolo, and their dog Leroy. She spends her time drinking coffee, making art, and obsessively futzing with words.
