She is the author of four cookbooks, including andlt;iandgt;Chez Panisse Vegetablesandlt;/iandgt; and andlt;iandgt;Fanny at Chez Panisseandlt;/iandgt;. Known as the Queen of Local Food, she founded the Edible schoolyard at Berkeleyand#8217;s Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School. She lives in San Francisco.
