Synopsis
Employee of the State is a lighthearted look at the unique and, at times, ridiculous climate and practices that exist in public sector employment. Lou Richards began writing Employee of the State while a state employee. In truth he was writing about the craziness around him merely as something to do to pass the time during long-winded staff meetings. Sitting in the back of the room, Lou looked liked a diligent notetaker rather than the distracted smartass he really is. Fortunately, government workplaces provide enough long-winded staff meetings that the pages and chapters quickly began to mount and ultimately evolved into a book.
