The book is divided into 30 chapters and 30 sermons. Every sermon is preached expositionally on a verse-by-verse basis. A careful reading, study, meditation, and application of these sermons will enable readers to grow spiritually, mature in faith, and be able to rightly divide the word of truth.
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work, 2 Timothy 3: 16-17.
The author has given clear and concise expositions on 30 New Testament passages involving the life, miracles, and teachings of Jesus. He presents a clear background to each passage with good outlines and insights for each sermon. Many of the sermons have an evangelistic or a devotional challenge. These sermons will be helpful to Pastors looking for ideas to develop a sermon and finding a good outline.
The author is very passionate about preaching the Word of God. He is very committed to serving the Church of God. During such challenging times (the Covid 19 Pandemic), he has churned out two books And this is his second one Surely, we can see God's hands here. Praise the Lord The 30 chapters in this book cover many of the key accounts in the narratives of the Gospels. The approach taken is systematic and simple. The book does not merely scratch the surface of the texts, and yet it is not too academic. Every preacher (both clergy and lay) needs resources as references, and as stimulations while preparing materials for preaching and teaching. Hence, this book will be a blessing to both preachers and teachers. We should look forward to more books from Dr. Koh, even as God leads him to venture from the Gospels to the other genres in the Scriptures May Dr. Andrew Koh be an effective instrument in God's mighty hand.
The Bible is the word of God. Since every word of God is inspired, infallible, inerrant, pure, and true, every word deserves to be examined and understood. The author takes Bible passages from the Gospels and comprehensively explaines them as any Bible scholar would. His explanation on the scripture or expositional preaching, presents the meaning and intent of a biblical text, providing commentary and examples to make the passage clear and understandable. He can expound the meaning of the passages clearly on a verse-by-verse basis. His studies on the grammar, the context, and the historical setting of a particular passage makes this book worth reading. He analysed the text carefully, objectively, interpret, and makes application to the contemporary setting. From here the reader himself will be able to craft a sermon out of his meticulous work. Difficult passages can be made understandable and simple. This book is recommend to those seeking to learn more about expositional preaching.
