About the Author
Rafael Varen Gabai has taught Latin American history in England, the United States, and Peru and presently is researcher at the Institute for Peruvian Studies in Lima. He is the author of a book and numerous articles on sixteenth-and seventeenth-century Andean history and ethno-history.
