Johanna has a new baby sister named Jillian. All Jillian can do is sleep and eat and cry a lot. Johanna calls her "cry baby, frog face, silly stinky bottom." But before too long, Jillian starts to say her own words, and then Johanna is even able to get Jillian to play with her. She begins to think that having a little sister might not be so bad after all....

About the Author
John Schindel is the author of several books for young readers and has produced and directed award-winning films for childern. Mr. Schindel says he wanted to write a story about his own two daughters and found inspiration in Ms. Delaney's photographs. "Janet's pictures of her daughteres illuminated the tensions and love I observed between my own girls," he says. Mr. Schindel lives with his family in Oakland, California.
Janet Delaney has received national recognition for her fine art photography. "Looking at the childhood photographs of my brother and sister and me brings back vivid memories of our daily lives," says Ms. Delaney. "I keep my camera close at hand to capture these routine yet magical moments in my daughters' lives." Ms. Delaney lives with her family in Berkeley, California.
