This book will be a comprehensive compendium of descriptions of each modality of physiologic imaging of brain tumors, including PET and all physiologic MRI modalities. This work will be unique in its field because it will include sections on diagnosis, monitoring of therapeutic intervention, and future directions of physiologic imaging of brain tumors. The author will tap into the extensive expertise found in the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, as well as at other centers such as the University of California at San Francisco, Duke University, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Thus, I plan to obtain contributions from a large number of contributors from many of the major brain tumor centers in the United States. I am planning to have one or at most two co-editors in addition to myself (one from Johns Hopkins and possibly one from another center). From my work as the current President of the American Society of Functional Neuroradiology, I have established a large network of colleagues in this field who are involved in various different aspects of brain tumor research and clinical practice.
