Synopses & Reviews
Convinced that we have become a nation of slaves -- slaves to history, to' corporations, slaves to the grinding routines that keep us unhappy-celebrated trial attorney Gerry Spence, in his most courageous work to date, proclaims that we must all take a prescriptive series of urgent steps in order to redirect our personal lives and ultimately reclaim American society. Examining America both from a his historical, as well as a contemporary point of view, Spence reveals that we are no longer a democracy, but a society of"New American Slaves", shackled to the corporate behe-moths who control our jobs, airwaves, and buying habits. Yet far from being a pronouncement of gloom, Give Me Liberty expands greatly on the how-to advice in How to Argue and Win Every Time and the philosophical wisdom of From Freedom to Slavery and empowers us with personal insights to:
-- reform our corrupt government
-- revamp our over-burdened legal system
-- demand that our corporations become as ethically responsible as individual citizens
-- free our inner selves
A brilliant grassroots work for every breathing American.
