About the Author Many years ago Susette did a jewellery-design course at Harrow School of Art, but found she sold more knitwear designs than jewellery and has been knitting ever since. She runs knitting workshops organized through her website www.susetteknits.org.uk. And encourages her students to progress and develop their knitting skills, whether they are interested in adult or childrens garments, bags or home furnishings. Susette knits by both hand and machine and creates wonderful, workable designs that are a joy to make. She has wide-ranging interests: she is a Liberal Democrat Councillor for the Childs Hill Ward of the London Borough of Barnet and a past Mayor. She has a BA and MA in Classical Civilisations from the Open University and has just completed a course in World Art and Artefacts at Birkbeck College, in conjunction with the British Museum.
