Gnostic anthropology is a field of study that is founded on the premise that the secrets of the past cannot be completely understood without the latent faculties of man being activated. Modern science seems to accept the idea that "we can never fully know the history of man" under the assumption that truth can only be found through the five senses, materialism and Euclid's world of three dimensions. However, Aun Weor makes immensely clear in this work and many others that the full history of the universe is recorded in the akashic records and can be accessed through extra-sensory means. In mathematics, the 4th dimension is known as time. According to esoteric traditions, time is not an abstract idea but a full reality that contains the sum of all events and forms that have ever occurred. It is utilizing this medium that Aun Weor and others have investigated the history of this planet and the origins of the human race. Madame Blavatsky, Rudolf Steiner and Plato are among those who have experimented with meditation and extra sensory perception in order to study the akashic records, all of whom reported astoundingly similar findings.
Something that Aun Weor states which I found very important is that these studies are not for skeptics. I find this to be true in a sense, since the immensity and scope of these topics can be difficult to accept. What I would add to his statement is that these studies are only valuable to those with an open mind and who are willing to work to cultivate their latent senses, in order to investigate them on their own. There is no use believing in something unless the truth of the matter can be personally verified. These teaching serve as a guide and warning to avoid mistakes that have been made repeatedly over the immense course of human existence. Trying to refute and disprove the author's claims would also be in vain unless one is willing to venture on an exhaustive study of the topic, in order to give a full and scientific survey of the enormous volume of ancient literature upon which this doctrine is founded. Aside from cultivating the capacity for in-depth meditation, the survey also includes the study of the cosmogony from every great civilization of the world, the writings of early scientist such as Paracelsus and Galen, the massive quantity of ancient writings from India especially Vishnu Purana and Shatapatha Brahmana, Egyptian mythology such as the pyramid texts and the Emerald Tablets of Thoth , Lakota creation myths, Meso-American writings and architecture, The Yi Jing or book of changes, the Chinese Taoist text Chuci, Australian aboriginal mythology, Norse and Druid mythology, the Aztec and Mayan calendars, the Mayan holy book Popal Vu, The book of Genesis, the art of initiates such as Albrecht Durer and Sandro Botticelli, Theosophical works such as Cosmogenesis, Anthrogenesis and The Secret Doctrine, the ancient Iranian Vendidad Avesta of Zoroaster, the middle Persian Zoroastrian text Bundahishn, the Rosicrucian library, and so on. These studies are for those who are dissatisfied with modern scientific explanations as well as the literal interpretation of the biblical Genesis and who are completely open to both new and ancient ideas.
It is my understanding given the research I have done that there is overwhelming agreement from vastly independent civilizations that support the claims of this book. This is definitely a worthwhile introductory read into the works of Samael Aun Weor, as well as a good starting place for those interested in esoteric or Gnostic anthropology. The origins of humanity described in this book present a much more complete picture than any others I have found. Gnostic anthropology is a wise combination of science, philosophy, art and religion and is highly recommended for anyone who is interested in knowledge that goes beyond the limits of the three dimensional world.
