About the Author
Even as a child, G.W. Childs IV dreamed of sound and music. As he grew, he learned synthesis, sound design, song writing, and remixing. In his first career, as a soldier in psychological operations, Childs learned ways to creatively use sound. His understanding of sound and music deepened when he became a touring musician, performing with the likes of Soil and Eclipse, Deathline Int'l, and Razed in Black. Since then, Childs has worked in video games, doing sound design on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords; acting in Star Wars: Battlefront; and contributing to many other popular video game titles and even TV shows. Along the way, Childs began exploring the popular music application, Reason. Excited to share his knowledge, G.W. has written several books under the Cengage Learning banner, including Creating Music and Sound for Video Games, Using Reason Onstage, and Making Music with Mobile Devices. He has also written many highly acclaimed articles and video tutorials with MacProVideo and Ask.com.
