This book changed my life. After 30 years of controlling my weight via exercise (lots of intense aerobics; running, cylcing, etc.) I discovered that all I needed to do was cut back on carbohydrates. This was truly a revelation. I was not very fat - only about 10 or 15 pounds overweight; now the weight is trivial to control. I am healthier and have more energy.
I also watched the Gary Taubes video series recorded by Rivendell Bicycle Works. I heartily recommend this book over Taubes "Why We Get Fat and What to Do About It" if you like all the nitty gritty details like I do. If you just want to cut to the chase - read "Why We Get Fat and What to Do About It" instead.
