Synopsis
A struggling artist in Toronto's studio district finds inspiration in dreams of a tropical island where sea turtles and humans co-exist. As the artist paints, the membrane between the worlds thins, and her canvases begin unlocking the mystery of a land with medieval technology and a slight awareness of Earth, a land that is somehow connected to the artist's suicidal friend, Marina.
The artist paints, and the inhabitants of the alternate universe become aware of the gate she is forging between worlds -- aware, too, that their existence is somehow linked to the life of Marina. In her dreams, the artist begins crossing between worlds. The tension builds in both worlds as everyone races against time to complete the gate before Marina dies.
