Synopses & Reviews
There are many ways of assessing the yields of illicit narcotic crops. However, internationally accepted, scientifically sound methods for yield assessment are currently not available for all major opium and cocaine producing countries. The guidelines presented in this publication describes some of the methods which can be used to assess the potential maximum yield of illicit narcotic crops from brief field visits. The publication discusses the general principles of yield assessment and the theoretical background to the methods and procedures. In addition it outlines practical procedures at the field level for using, testing and/or developing methods.
