About the Author
Esther Blum is a Registered Dietitian and Holistic Nutritionist practicing in New York City. She is the author of
Eat, Drink and Be Gorgeous: A Nutritionist's Guide to Living Well While Living It Up (Chronicle Books, 2007). Widely respected as an industry expert, Esther is the media spokesperson for POM pomegranate juice, where she serves on their medical advisory board. Esther received a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Nutrition from Simmons College in Boston and is a graduate of New York University, where she received her Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition. Esther is credentialed as a registered dietitian, a certified dietitian-nutritionist and a certified nutrition specialist (CNS), a license of the American College of Nutrition (ACN)'s certifying arm, the Certification Board for Nutrition Specialists (CBNS). She is also a member of the American Dietetic Association, Nutritionists in Complementary Care, and the Greater New York Dietetic Association. Charity Ferreira is a food writer, recipe developer, and senior associate editor at Yoga Journal. She is the author or co-author of numerous cookbooks, including Williams-Sonoma Eat Well, Williams-Sonoma Essentials of Mediterranean, The Baby & Toddler Cookbook, and Ice Cream Treats. Her freelance writing has appeared in publications including Cooking Light, Gourmet, Bon Appetit, Sunset, and San Francisco Magazine.
