Eleanor Farjeon (1881–1965) was a writer, poet, and playwright. Whilst best known for her children’s verse and stories, she was also a regular contributor to Punch and other magazines, and wrote the words to the popular hymn “Morning Has Broken.”
Herbert Farjeon (1887–1945), her brother, was a drama critic, writer, playwright, and theater manager and researcher.
Rosalind Thornycroft (1891–1973) was the daughter of the sculptor Sir Hamo Thornycroft. She was a friend of the Farjeons and also illustrated Eleanor Farjeon’s Nuts in May.
