Synopses & Reviews
New York Times bestselling thriller superstar and Master of the Mind Game, Jeffery Deaver is set to deliver the blockbuster hit of the summer season: James Bond is back and better than ever, newly updated for the millennium.
• Who can resist James Bond? Jeffery Deaver has been selected to pen the newest installment of the Bond series, an adrenaline-fueled thriller set in the present day, with a thirty-year-old James Bond going head-to-head against one of the most compelling, and horrific villains in modern thriller fiction. This isn’t the Cold War Bond; it’s the best of Fleming and Deaver in one seriously sharp and stylish novel. Bond’s license to kill meets Deaver’s razor-sharp storytelling and shocking plot twists in a cat-and-mouse game that takes Bond from the Balkans to London and ultimately to a searing climax on the African Continent. Deaver has outdone himself in re-creating the iconic character of Bond, his uncompromising courage and style, his wit and seductiveness, in a novel that captures everything beloved about the classic books, along with an international thriller plot that moves with breathtaking speed from page one to the final paragraph.
• Award-winning fan favorite: Deaver has been hitting homeruns for more than a decade. All of his recent novels have debuted as New York Times bestsellers. Both of 2008’s Deaver novels, The Broken Window and The Bodies Left Behind, were nominated by the International Thriller Writers Association for Best Novel of the Year; Bodies won.
• A global event: Publishers in fourteen countries including Italy, Germany, France, Spain, and the UK are lining up to make this book a global phenomenon. Combined with exciting marketing opportunities and the full support of the Fleming Estate—and timed to the anniversary of Ian Fleming’s birth—this is guaranteed to be an international bestseller.
