The first two volumes record the material and physical culture of Europe
in the Ancient and Medieval periods featuring clothes, furniture, architecture,
transport and weaponry in action scenes, both imaginative and historical,
as well as in isolated examples. The final volume expands the view into
the Modern period until the time of the Greek War of Independence
including the wider world of Africa, Asia, Oceania, Polynesia and the
Americas. A rich cultural resource. Jamie McNulty, Powells.com
