Excerpt from In Arctic Seas: The Voyage of the Kite With the Peary Expedition, Together With a Transcript of the Log of the Kite
The work herewith presented to the reader is divided into two separate but closely related parts. The first part, The Voyage of the Kite, is the narrative of the expedition sent in 1891 to convey Lieut. Peary to the northwestern shore of Green land; the second, under the general title of The Peary Relief Expedition, is a record of the second voyage of the same vessel in the present year, when she was sent to bring the party home again.
