Cambridge, Massachusetts, 2008: What if you awoke and saw yourself at a crime scene on the morning news, but had no recollection of being there? And what if there were too many coincidences to dismiss the possibility that you were inexplicably linked to crimes that were overshadowing the life that you had built for yourself? Someone is kidnapping and killing young children who are the innocent victims of parental neglect, whose lives are a daily struggle for survival. Dr. Anna Morrill, a psychiatrist with a specialty in forensics, finds herself in the middle of these unsolved crimes, and the recent victims have been under her care at the court clinic where she works. The link to her work at the clinic will become the center of the investigation. What transpires forces Anna to confront childhood memories that have a deadly impact on the case. Teaming once again with Mick Thompson, now Captain of the Cambridge police force, they will try to find the person responsible before another child is taken. And, in the process, it will change their lives forever.
