Synopses & Reviews
Since 1984 the United Nations Industrial Development Organization has published an annual Global Report which has established a solid reputation among academics and policy makers. Providing description and analysis of industrial development on both global and regional scales, this year's report is shorter and more focused than previous editions. The first part contains an analytical survey of the current world industrial economy and provides a general overview on four themes: industrialization and poverty alleviation; Regional Trading blocs vs. multilateral trading; sustainable industrialization; and competitiveness in developing countries. The work continues with ten regional surveys from around the world. Statistical appendices provide industrial data for over 150 countries.
