Synopsis
At the heart of Joseph's African village is a great tree, and the villagers have lived contentedly for generations in its shelter. When the tree falls down, Joseph carves a beautiful cradle for his first child, Sisi. And so begins a very special tradition... Every new baby in the village is rocked in Joseph's cradle, and has her or his name carved on it. But when Joseph's house is burned down in a veld fire, the precious cradle disappears... Will the old traditions be lost too, or will Joseph and his cradle return to the village?
Synopsis
Everyone loves the big tree that stands at the heart of the village - especially Joseph. So when, one stormy night, the tree is blown down, Joseph carves a beautiful cradle from the trunk - for his new baby, Sisi, and for every baby born in the village from that day on.
But when at last it is time for Sisi's own grandchild to be rocked in the cradle, a terrible fire strikes the village and the cradle disappears. Is Joseph's cradle lost forever?
