* For a second stage of learning, up to four compounds are also listed on the front of the card, with their readings and English translations on the back.
* An accompanying booklet explains how to use the cards and lists all the characters covered according to their stroke order, and alphabetically by readings. A section for further study lists kanji that share a common radical and reading with those include in the set, enabling users to learn more advanced kanji.
