This is a good Oregon thriller, all about a highly dysfunctional family with a lodge up near Mt. Hood. It keeps you guessing and there is a tense feeling throughout. There are no scenes at the beach in this novel, but the description of the scenery is always fun because the places are well known to most of us. After reading about the patriarch of this family, most of us will have a better feeling about our own family, even if it is less than perfect.
