Il y a sans doute des inconvenients a cette mamere de faire, ils sautent aux yeux; mais les Americains acceptent ces inconvenients, parce qu'ils leur parais sent, a eux, moindres que les avantages; leurs en fauts sont imprudents, mais leurs jeunes gens sont hardis et entreprenants. A l'inverse, nous desirons des enfants sages, obeissants, disciplines, mais nos jeunes gens manquent d'initiative. De la surveillance de leur nourrice, ils passent successivement a la sur veillance d'une bonne, d'un pion de college, d'un caporal de chambree, et quand, a la fin, on leur laisse leur liberte, ils n'en savent pas faire usage.
