Synopses & Reviews
As a teacher of landscape horticulture for over 30 years, it was Ferrell Bridwell's experience combined with the lack of sufficient resources that led to the writing of this text. He noticed that students who had access to plants on a regular basis, in addition to a reference with data and good color photographs, advanced quickly in understanding the world of horticulture. In this second edition, plant data is arranged in an easy-to-locate format, with full-color photos for sharpening identification skills. Students can observe a representative plant and imagine its use, thus becoming more involved in the learning process. Elements of design are introduced in the book so students can gain related proficiencies to accompany plant identification skills. A CD-ROM companion is also available for audio and visual studies. With more plants in every zone, and a helpful pronunciation guide, Landscape Plants: Their Identification, Culture, and Use 2E is the tool of choice for horticulture education.
