Synopsis
Education and learning in the 21st century will be very different from what we have known in the 20th century. It is absolutely necessary that we change schools from places where the adults, with limited up-to-date materials and few connections to the real world, work as hard as they can while the students watch.
The Learning Organization of the future has everyone at the site involved in the learning process. It is a multidimensional learning environment that ensures that the entire fund of knowledge, ability and expertise that all members of the community-at-large possess becomes the fund of knowledge upon which the "school" of the future draws. Rather than an adversarial and judgmental organization, it is one of cooperation and collaboration with the expectation that each and every learner will reach a high level of competency. The schools of the future that provide this kind of learning environment may be public, private, charter, corporate, magnet or home-based.
