Synopses & Reviews
LEARNING PERSIAN (Book and audio CD) teaches through a method in which all lessons are presented in the language to be learned. Concepts and vocabulary are built up gradually in each chapter by adding to those introduced earlier and by integrating all of the ideas. Frequent repetition reinforces what the student has already learned. An English-Persian vocabulary at the end of each lesson helps the student complete the exercises. The book includes: a grammar related to the lessons; a glossary of grammatical terms in Persian and English; Conjugation tables of commonly used verbs; and a list of the present stems of the irregular verbs. The authors teach Persian at American, Johns Hopkins and Georgetown Universities.
