Synopsis
Excerpt from Lesson Book, for Very Young Children: In Words of One and Two Syllables
Mary, my dear, why do you not work? You will never finish that doll's frock, if you lay it by so often. Always finish what you begin.
Suppose a builder were building a house, and when he had got half way, he were to stop and say, I am tired, and will leave off, we should have no houses to live in. Or, suppose a plough man in a field were to say, I am tired of ploughing and sowing corn, we should have no bread to eat.
