Synopsis
In the 1800s, cattle had to be herded to a cattle town before they could be shipped to their final destination. Life on the Trail features authentic photos of cowboys on the cattle trail in the 1800s and early 1900s as well as a map outlining the trails taken in both the United States and Canada. Children will learn about: - the jobs of the cook, the trail boss, and the wrangler - the dangers of stampedes and cow rustlers - the hard work of bronco busting - the challenge of the round-up - cow lullabies and riding contests
