Christopher Paul Curtis was awarded both a Newbery Honor and a Coretta Scott King Honor for his debut book THE WATSONS GO TO BIRMINGHAM and won the Newbery Medal and the Coretta Scott King Award for his second book, BUD, NOT BUDDY.
