The city of New Orleans has gone mad, and Steve Giroux has gone mad with it. Or has he? Fleeing one woman, Giroux found himself hooked up with another during Mardi Gras. With Jelly Roll Morton's "Cannonball Blues" pounding in the background, and countless shots of vodka down his throat, Steve could no longer tell what was real and what wasn't anymore. And he couldn't have cared less until he found out about the murders. Juleen had him but where was she? Was that a snake's head swaying back and forth in front of him in the shadows? Steve wanted to escape but he couldn't the snake had him, he heard screaming, his hands were wet and sticky, there was more screaming. Then nothing, except the snake crawling over him, whispering, "Twisted, twisted, all twisted in the hole I'm in."
