Excerpt from Minutes of the 48th Annual Meeting of the State Convention, of North Carolina: Held in Charlotte, N. C., November 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th, 1878
Rev. Jesse Howell was employed by the Union Meeting of Mount Zion Association, at its last session, at a salary of $365, to do mission work in the destitute section between Mount Zion and Flat River Associations. He has entered upon his labors with hopeful results.
Durham Church has been doing a fine mission work this year, and has spent upwards of $500 in this department, notwithstanding their heavy outlay for their own church.
