Excerpt from Minutes of the Proceedings of the Seventh Convention of Delegates: From the Abolition Societies, Established in Different Parts of the United States, Assembled at Philadelphia, on the Third Day of June, One Thousand Eight Hundred and One, and Continued by Adjournments Until the Sixth Day of the Same Month, Inclusive
The Society conclude, by obferving, that the principles of humanity and freedom, the primary objects of their affociation, are gradually gaining ground in this State, and that appearances in ge neral are fuch, as to make them believe their exer tions have been uleful, and that there is encourage ment to continue and extend them.
