Oh Christina! Despite all of the hype, this book is actually a good recount of Joan Crawford's life from the perspective of her daughter, Christina. Yes, there is the "Wire Hangers" piece, as well as countless other tales of craziness, yet Christina Crawford is careful to ensure that she doesn't paint herself as a victim of the horrific Joan Crawford- in fact, she paints a more caring, and compassionate picture of her mother, rather than the movie "Mommie Dearest" with Faye Dunaway. The truth is, Joan Crwaford had her hang-ups, but was nothing like the monster she is made to be in the film version of this book. This is a great Bio of Joan's early life, as well as personal stories that were passed down from Joan to her daughter. This is a book for your home library, a weekend getaway, or just a good, quick, read. This book is out of print - so get it NOW!!
